Leo is a Past President of the SAF and has been an active Board member for many years. Leo received his B.A. in Political Science (summa cum laude) from Hillsdale College, his M.A. in Political Science and J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Michigan, and his LL.M. in Comparative and International Law (magna cum laude) from the Free University of Brussels. He also completed the Senior Managers in Government Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Prior to commencing his legal career, Leo served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a foreign lecturer at Pusan National University in Pusan, Korea. His legal career includes positions with the New York City law firm of Alexander & Green and as Assistant General Counsel of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. He also served as corporate Vice President of Manor Care, Inc. and Choice Hotels International, Inc. Currently, he handles upscale commercial and residential transactions with Karl E. Scott Realty, Inc. real estate brokers. Leo is the author of a number of legal publications. He has served on the Boards of a number of nonprofit entities, chairing a number of them.
